Monte
Carotto cafe 'Agora', located in the center of the village. Just five minutes
drive from Casa Bella Vista, the local village is typical of the area with
a theatre, bank/cash point, two new cafe-bars and the original fortified
town walls. There are also two bakery shops, newsagents and a very small
supermarket, so no problem for fresh crossants for breakfast! Shops are
open around 7.30 am to mid day and again from around 4.30 - 7.30pm and local
restaurants from about 8pm onwards. |

Approximately
half an hours' drive from Casa Bella Vista and five minutes from Ancona
airport and you can choose from several miles of soft sand beaches. Senigallia
has a vibrant sea front, completely lined with beach cafes, beach tennis,
volley ball courts. During high season, the beach is mainly laid out to
parasols and reclining beds. Ask for a day ticket at any of the individual
beach cafe's. Typically 8-9 euro per person and also drink/snack deals often
available. Avoid the weekend unless you go early, as despite the length
of the beach, you may find it difficult to park. Shallow warm sea, usually
with small waves. |
 |
Senigallia
old Town, within easy walking distance of the beach front. Good shopping,
castle, waterside arcades, theatre, restaurants and many cafe-bars. Walking
around the old Town makes a great end to a day at the beach. Why not try
an aperativo (early drink/selection of finger-food) available at most bars
from around 6-8pm. Good selection of food, ranging from inexpensive pizza,
fish restaurants including two with michelin stars. Finally, a wonderful
selection of Italian ice creams, topped with cream if you prefer! |

Conero
Beach, about one hours drive from Casa Bella Vista, 8km south of Ancona.
This setting is delightful, small white pebbles and deep turquoise sea,
set at the base of a pine-forrested cliff. Conero beach is located near
Mt Conero and feels secluded compared with Senigallia. Approached on foot
winding down through pine woods (don't worry, there is also a mini bus service),
this beach makes the journey worth making. Beach cafes, toilets and a hill
side restaurant for those who like a leisurely lunch. Alternatively, check
out Portonovo town & beach, just a few km down the road. |
 |
Arcivia
- a mountain top village viewed to the south west of Casa Bella Vista. Around
25 minutes drive, Arcevia and it's high plateau park offers stunning pararamic
views. Directions: drive past the market place and town hall (one way) and
after approximately 1/4 mile, take a left turn at the junction on a right
hand bend. Take the road up the hillside, where you will come to a hotel
and the park. This is a great place to walk or picnic and has the added
advantage of the outside hotel cafe/bar. |
 |
L'Infinito
Country House Restaurant - this is agreat place to relax by the outdoor
pool for the afternoon and to have a great dinner. L'Infinito has been beautifully
restored and has approximately 100 covers, so you can be confident of getting
a table at most times if you call in. Menu's are translated into English
and food ranges from excellent pizza (from about 6.50 euro) through sea
food platters to and outstanding local steak and to whatever your budget
can stretch to! L'Infinito opens for dinner at approximately 8pm. Pool tickets
and a recliner is approximately 9-10 euro for the day. Less than 15 minutes
drive from Casa Bella Vista. |

Monte
Carotto cafe 'Chalet della Terrazza' lives up to its name, with outstandind
panoramic views extending to the coast 25Km away! This is a new bar and
offers an easy going and relaxing evening out. Typical of small bar cafe
establishments, in addition to drinks and coffee, it offers a small range
of cakes but makes up for the lack of food with an excellent choice of great
Italian ice cream - perfect for a hot summer night. Just a few minutes walk
from the Cafe Agora in the village square. |
